Purpose of the SC Chapter Speakers Bureau:
To raise awareness of green building across South Carolina by offering green building information in the form of educational speakers and presentations to traditional and nontraditional audiences.

What kinds of organizations can request Green Building presentations?
Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, Civitan, school groups, trade associations, unions, nonprofits, municipalities, construction organizations, real estate groups, and faith based organizations, etc.
What topics can be requested?
USGBC – SC Chapter Overview, Green Building 101, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Overview, USGBC Green Schools Program, LEED for Green Homes, LEED for Existing Buildings, Green Building Policies, and we may be flexible enough to cater to specific requests.
How do I submit a request?

How are speakers selected for these events?
Speakers will be screened by a Chapter committee and selected based on geography and area of expertise. The Speakers Bureau Manager will work with the local Branch Communication Chair to select potential speakers from the Speakers Bureau pool. The selected speaker will be contacted by the Branch Communications Chair to confirm availability for the event. Once a speaker has accepted a speaking engagement, the requesting organization will be informed and sent the speaker’s contact information and bio.
Will I be expected to reimburse the speaker for travel expenses?
The requesting organization will not be asked to cover any travel expenses for the speaker. Speakers will be selected from nearby candidates to minimize travel costs. Tax-deductible donations are accepted.
Speakers will not promote their companies, products, or services during presentations, but will provide an attendee sign-in sheet requesting name and email address of the attendees. These email addresses will be added to the USGBC – SC Chapter email list, so thank you messages can be sent.
Following receipt of your request form, we will typically respond in 10-20 business days. We cannot guarantee that an appropriate representative will be available for every event.
