<p>Learn how to apply the LEED BD+C rating systems, using LEED for New Construction as the focus, to a real project by walking through the phases of a typical project and the key decisions that project teams must make, including stakeholder considerations.</p>
<p>Engage with experienced LEED® Faculty™ and other participants in interactive activities using case examples that enable you to work hands-on with LEED implementation strategies and rating system tools, including project-forms from LEED Online v3.</p>

<p><span style="color: #808080;"><a href="http://www.usgbcsc.org/site/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/WEBTITLE_STCLARE1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1815" title="WEBTITLE_STCLARE" src="http://www.usgbcsc.org/site/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/WEBTITLE_STCLARE1.jpg" alt="" width="576" height="288" /></a>The Franciscan Monastery of Saint Clare is the first monastery in the United States  to be awarded LEED certification.  Located on 14 acres in the Upstate,of South Carolina, the new Monastery is a one-story structure that features two courtyards offering views to exterior gardens. The monaster takes advantage of  these natural views and the natural  lighting throughout the majority of the building.  The Monasterywas designed to significantly reduce water consumption through the installation of high efficiency, low-flow water closets, lavatories, and shower fixtures.   The project site was designed to feature a sustainable landscape planted with native and adaptive plant material. A  temporary drip irrigation system currently in use will be decommissioned after plantings are established, and 75% of the site has been restored to provide habitat and promote biodiversity. </span></p>

<div><span style="color: #808080;">The tour will start with everyone gathered in the Chapel for an introduction to the project by Sisters Nancy and Cathy,  residents and Owner’s representatives, during design and construction.<br />

<div><span style="color: #808080;">Three groups will be formed for a tour of the public facilities and grounds with discussion of LEED credits earned and lost. For those ordering a box lunch, the Hospitality room and grounds will be available for people to gather, eat and socialize.</span></div>

<p>WE WANT YOU to apply to be a member of our bureau!<br />
Are you comfortable speaking to groups about a topic about which you are passionate? Are you eager to be a part of spreading the word about the benefits of green building and sustainable communities?<br />
