Grand Strand February Program 2/18
Withers District Conceptual Master Plan Presentation
Please join the USGBC and the City of Myrtle Beach in an event that will include the unveiling of a conceptual master plan for the Withers Swash District. Michael Guthrie, AIA, LEED AP, of inFORM studio will be presenting the culmination of a four-month study of the Withers Swash District and conceptual master plan for the impacted region. The study area and plan is critical to all residents of Myrtle Beach and its impact on the 4.2 square mile drainage basin that feeds our regions precious beaches.
The plan objective is to repurpose an environmentally stressed region of the city into a highly sustainable, ecologically rich park environment, and recognize and preserve the cultural heritage of the region. The planning process has implemented an integrated approach that illustrates a comprehensive strategy to address qualitative green space, stormwater management, transportation, land use, development density, and neighborhood revitalization.
