Committees

ADVOCACY
Chair: Dennis Knight, PE, LEED AP, Liollio Architecture

The Advocacy Committee builds public awareness of, and demand for, high performance green buildings as well as support legislative initiatives that specify green building standards – including the LEED rating system – at the local, county and state levels. This committee conducts grassroots outreach activities, and works with partner organizations to further our organization’s mission.

BRANCH PROGRAMS
Chair: Joel Carter, Carter Architecture

The Branch Programs Committee is responsible for planning and executing monthly branch programs. By analyzing national trends and local response, this group prepares and delivers programs to best serve our Chapter branches and green building in South Carolina.

COMMUNICATIONS
Chair: Dan Gerst, QS/1

This committee is responsible for Chapter marketing, communications, website, emails, e-newsletters, media relations and market research.

FINANCE
Chair: Hiren SHAH, Pegram Associates, Inc. Architects & Planners

The Finance Committee is responsible for the fiscal well-being of the Chapter. The Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding existing and new fiscal programs and safeguards.

FUND-RAISING
Chair: Doug Webster, CBRE | The Furman Co.

The Fund-Raising Committee is responsible for generating funds and raising money to support the events and activities of the Chapter. The committee may also initiate and plan various fund-raising events.

GOVERNANCE
Chair: John Hansen, AIA, LEED AP, Craig Gaulden Davis

The Governance Committee is responsible for maintaining the Chapter’s bylaws and policies and ensuring that they are followed. The committee’s Nominating Subcommittee oversees the annual Board nomination and election processes.

MEMBERSHIP
Chair: Christina Goodwin, Studio 2LR

The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting new members and maintaining membership records.

SUSTAIN SC 2010
Chair: Denise Sherman, LEED AP, Agru America, Inc.

This committee is responsible for the chapter’s annual conference, which draws 3-400 attendees and 50-60 exhibitors.
